Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish – Hot Cloth Cleanser

I’ve heard so many great reviews about Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, so I don’t know why it has taken me this long to try it, but I’m so glad I finally did!

I know this has been reviewed so many times but I wanted to share my views as it has literally transformed my night time skincare routine!

I was fairly happy with my routine before, but it was time consuming and I was using a lot of products. I was using eye make-up remover, cleansing with cotton pads then toning – but as I have quite sensitive skin I have to use mild products which work great, but they are so mild it takes a lot of product and cotton pads to completely take all my make-up off!

I didn’t really realise what a time consuming process it was until I discovered the Cleanse and Polish and how quick the whole process is.

One of the reasons why I never bought this in the past was partly because I was unsure how to use it and I originally thought you needed to wash your face with it in the sink.

I know this is how you should wash your face anyway, but I’ve always preferred to cleanse with cotton pads as I just hate splashing water on my face in the sink – I end up getting water everywhere and get my hair wet which I really hate!

I just find it all really messy! But this is why I love this product; it avoids splashing water on your face which makes it a really quick and easy process. Liz Earle

You fill the sink up with hand-hot water, apply one or two pumps of the cleanser and massage it onto dry skin (with dry hands) starting with the centre of the face outwards and even on your eyelids (do your eyelids last so you don’t spread eye make-up all over your face).

Then, rinse the muslin cloth in the water and wring it out so its damp and simply wipe off the cream whilst using a clean section for each part of your face. I keep dipping the cloth into the warm water and keep wiping until all my make up is off and face is clean.

It only takes me a few wipes and as the cloth is damp and not soaking wet it avoids water splashing everywhere or getting it in your hair!

It really is that simple and what’s great about this product is that it’s gentle enough to use around the eye area and does a great job at removing eye makeup.

When I’ve got really heavy eye make-up on I will still use a little bit of eye make-up remover to start the process (I don’t take it all off – just give it a wipe to loosen any stubborn mascara/eyeliner) but I will just go ahead with the Hot Cloth Cleanser for everyday make-up. I finish with a little splash of cold water or toner before putting any creams on.

I am so happy I finally got round to trying this! I just love how quick and mess free it is and my skin feels amazing after it!

It contains the naturally active ingredients of cocoa butter to soften and moisturise and; rosemary, chamomile hops and eucalyptus to tone, sooth and purify and these moisturising properties have definitely worked for me; as since I’ve been using it, my skin feels so much softer, especially around my chin and nose where it used to be a lot drier.

The product I bought was £14.75 and came with a 100ml pump bottle and two muslin cloths which I think is great considering I only use one pump for my everyday make-up face and two for heavier make-up, so I think it will last ages.

I’ve no idea why it took me so long to try this as it really does deserve all the great reviews and I will definitely be repurchasing this!
