I love all my Urban Decay Naked palettes, but when it comes to taking only one on holiday; Naked 3 has been my palette of choice. Of course, I’d love to pack them all, but luggage allowance just doesn’t cater for beauty junkies like myself, so unfortunately make-up packing is very limited!
In the past, I use to just take a small selection of eyeshadows on holiday, but when this palette came out, I’ve found myself reaching for it for both weekends away and holidays abroad. In my opinion, it just has the perfect and most beautiful combination of summery colours that can be worn day to night.
Of course, all the Naked palettes have that versatility, but what sets Naked 3 apart from the others as the ultimate packing choice; are the rose-gold hues that really compliment the sunny weather and bright evenings we get on holidays.
There’s also a few deeper shades which are not too dark that they are harsh in bright sunlight, but are just the right tones for working into a smokey eye for an evening look.
No palette is complete without a gold shimmer to offer versatility and a touch of glamour, and this palette comes with the shade Trick; a coppery gold-pink with micro-sparkle.
I know this palette has been reviewed so many times already, but I wanted to share my views about why this is the perfect holiday palette for me and as I’m going on holiday soon and have just started the packing process – make-up was obviously the first priority!
Also, I probably don’t need to mention, but the plastic case makes it ideal for travelling, especially if you’re like me and worry about things breaking in your case!
Strange – a very pale pink matte-satin. It’s always useful to have a pale matte – perfect for an understated, soft, sultry smokey eye.
Dust – a soft, shell-pink metallic shimmer with micro-glitter. A beautiful and delicate pink shade.
Burnout – a smooth, pinky-peach satin – it has a subtle sheen for an alternative to the pink shimmers and glitters.
Limit – a soft, dusty-rose matte which looks stunning with Darkside. I love this combination and the contrasts of soft pink and deep taupe.
Buzz – a striking combination of colours: a metallic rose with gold micro-glitter make this a vibrant and bold shimmer.
Trick – a coppery gold-pink with micro-sparkle – a must-have shade in every palette for creating a variety of looks and also great for the inner corners.
Nooner – a pinky taupe-mauve matte with a slight plum tone to it. I like this with deep greys for a sultry, smokey eye look.
Liar – a metallic mushroom, pinky-mauve shimmer. A really elegant shade.
Factory – a warm satin russet-brown and one of my favourites.
Mugshot – a metallic pinky-taupe shimmer with slight plum tones and another favourite of mine.
Darkside – a smokey mushroom-mauve with deep plum and lavender tones. A really distinctive shade and great for adding depth.
Blackheart – a really unique shade that combines a very deep matte chocolate soot-grey with red micro-glitters for a shade with added depth and dimension. I love this as the contrast in colours between the red and soot-grey is striking and really stands out.
I love all the shades in this palette from the soft, shell-pinks to the deep, sultry taupe’s and the combination of looks are endless. As the deeper colours are not too dark and harsh, when combined with the rose-gold hues they create really beautiful looks – perfect for holidays.
