I love nothing more than a relaxing night-in to myself — have a bubble bath, put on a face mask and read magazines.
I like to make sure I use a face mask at least once a week, and find a hot, relaxing bubble bath the perfect time to use one.
I have a few different face masks that I like to use, but at the moment I’m rotating between Balance Me Radiance Face Mask and using the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm as a treatment mask.
The Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is such a great product as it can be used as a luxurious facial treatment which is especially good for when my skin is feeling particularly dry. I like to use this as a treatment about every three to four weeks and use a different face mask in-between weekly.
You can use it for a few different uses such as; dissolving and removing eye make-up, general cleansing and make-up removal and as a facial treatment — which is what I use it for.
It also has anti-ageing properties (which is always a bonus!) and is made from natural oils. I use it as a treatment mask by smoothing it over a cleansed face whilst massaging the skin to loosen the balm.
It has quite a ‘menthol’ scent which I really like as it smells really clean and fresh and I also find the aroma really relaxing.
I leave it on for about 10 minutes with a warm flannel over my face and relax while breathing in the aromas. Then I use the warm flannel to just wipe it off and afterwards my skin feels really soft, clean and fresh-feeling — just like how a spa facial treatment would feel afterwards.
It really is such a spa-like treatment mask, which is why I like to use it every few weeks to save it as a luxury face mask!
The other mask I’ve been really enjoying using is the Balance Me Radiance Face Mask. I’m new to Balance Me products and I’ve been using this mask I got free with Glamour magazine a while ago.
It’s a 30ml tube so it’s probably going to last me a while too! I really like this mask and find it so lovely on my skin. It feels really soothing to use and it contains kaolin clay and fruit acids to brighten and cleanse the skin.
It also contains little grains of ‘gently polishing walnut shells’ which help to exfoliate the skin as you remove the mask with a damp cloth.
After leaving the mask on for about 5 minutes, I like to just gently smooth the mask around my skin for a few seconds before removing it with a damp cloth, to make sure I’m getting the most out of the exfoliating benefits.
After a nice relaxing bath and face mask, I like to wind down with a few magazines and a cooling eye-mask before bed. I’ve had this Anatomicals revitalising gel cooling eye-mask for years and always use it for when I need to refresh tired or sore eyes or just generally need some time to lie back and relax.
I place it in the fridge for about half an hour first to chill it, and it really cools and refreshes my eyes leaving them less puffy and tight and feeling more ‘awake’ and refreshed.
