Holiday Packing: ‘Summery’ Make-Up

I’m going away on holiday on Sunday and currently in the middle of sorting through what I’m going to take.

I love choosing what make-up to take as I get to use items which I probably don’t get much of a chance too usually or just forget to use on a daily basis!

Summer Make-up, Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

I don’t like to pack a lot of make-up, so I’m careful to choose items which I know I will definitely wear and colours that I know will go with a variety of outfits.

I also like to take my most ‘summery’ shades that I probably don’t use as much as I’d like to with the lack of sunny weather we have in the UK, but which are perfect for holidays.

One item I definitely can’t live without, on holiday or not, is highlighter! I have loads of highlighters and I’m probably going to take two, but I’ve not decided on which other one yet! But the one I know I’ll definitely be taking is my beloved Mac Soft and Gentle!

Mac Soft and Gentle Highlighter

I just think you can’t go wrong with Mac Soft and Gentle, it’s just the most perfect, summery, peach-bronze shade which highlights beautifully. It has just enough shimmer without being too overpowering and ‘glisteny’, which makes it perfect to use both day and night.

One item I love to take on holidays is my Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. I love all my Naked palettes, but this one is especially perfect for holidays as it contains such light, summery colours but with a few deeper shades for versatility.

So you can still create a smokey-eye with this for the evenings, but with a more subtle take on it by using the deeper shades which are not as harsh as using blacks or really deep browns. I love the pink and rose-gold hues in this palette, perfect for wearing during the day to keep your make-up looking soft and summery.

bareMinerals Intuition eyeshadow

I’m taking two loose eyeshadow pigments with me which are my summer favourites! They are both bareMinerals loose eyeshadows, one is Intuition (above) and the other is Celestine (below). Intuition is a vibrant pinky-purple shade with glimmer and it’s really flattering for green eyes.

I love this as a wash of colour over the lid with a slightly darker shade in the outer corners for a more summery smokey-eye. I love taking shades like this on holiday with me, as I hardly get to use them otherwise and they get forgotten about.

bareMinerals Celestine eyeshadow

Celestine is a such a stunning shade! It’s a light silver-grey shimmer and it’s just a beautiful everyday shade which really opens up the eyes with the shimmery particles in it. Again, this is a shade with looks amazing as the lighter colour in a smokey-eye, so it’s perfect for holidays.

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue lip balm in Pink Me Up

Lip products are probably the items I take the most of on holiday, as I like to have a few different options depending on what I’m wearing or how I feel. So I’ll be taking a few lipsticks in various shades which I haven’t decided on yet, but one lip product I definitely need is a lip balm.

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue lip balm in Pink Me Up

I’m taking my new Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue lip balm in Pink Me Up as it’s a gorgeous pink for everyday and I can also use it to prep my lips for lipstick in the evenings, as it’s so moisturising and softening.

Summer Make-up, Mac Soft and Gentle

Those are a few of the items that I haven’t worn for a while but will be making their way into my holiday make-up bag, as they’re all perfect summer make-up shades which I know are going to compliment different outfits and create beautiful summer make-up looks.

What are your staple holiday make-up products?
