Haircare Products That I Can’t Live Without

I love taking care of my hair and over the years I’ve discovered some amazing products that have worked wonders for my hair.

I use to have black hair from years of dying it dark brown until the colour build up eventually turned it almost jet-black.

I hated it and for years tried getting highlights, ombre — all sorts to try to lighten it but it never turned out looking nice so I always ended up dying over it.

It was only a few years ago that I found an amazing hairdresser (finally!) who, over time, added subtle highlights all through it until eventually using the balayage method and I finally have brown hair!

My hairdresser left early this year and I’m still not over it as I’ve yet to find one as good as him! So for now I’ve just been going to different ones to get my roots done, as I like my roots to be darker than the rest of my hair and as I’m naturally blonde, I have to get my roots done every 5 weeks or so.

But I’m finally happy with my medium-brown shade through the ends and just keep getting my roots done.

So, all that took its toll on my hair, and although my hairdresser did an amazing job at doing it gradually in stages so it never got too weak or dry, it still ended up being drier than it was before so I needed to use products which helped to get it back in good condition.

Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment

My friend recommended MoroccanOil Treatment to me years ago and I loved it when I first tried it, but have been using it religiously since I started going lighter.

It literally is such a fantastic product! The difference it has made to my hair is amazing and I use it every time after I wash my hair.

The great thing about this product is that — even though it’s a small bottle — you only need to use a really tiny amount and apply it through the ends of towel-dried hair.

It really does make my hair so silky and soft afterwards and I really do notice a difference during the odd times when I haven’t used it! It has literally saved my once dry, damaged hair and made it soft and in good condition again, so I’ll always continue to use this product.

Regis Design Line Powder Boost Hair Volumizer

I have quite thick hair naturally, but it’s also naturally straight so it needs a lot of work when it comes to giving it volume that actually lasts all day.

I was introduced to the Regis Design Line Powder Boost Volumizer years ago and love it for giving my roots volume which doesn’t go flat throughout the day!

It’s a dry styling powder that you sprinkle on to the roots and it dissolves into the hair and as you massage it gently through the roots, it adds instant volume, thickness and texture without feeling sticky or leaving any residue.

Again, this is a product which lasts ages as you only need the tiniest of amounts for it to be effective. It transforms my hair from being flat and lifeless, to actually looking styled with natural looking volume.

Haircare Favourites Tangle Teezer

I’ve only had a Tangle Teezer since Christmas, but I wish I’d bought one sooner as its been such a welcome addition to my haircare routine! It’s so great for quickly brushing through and de-tangling wet hair and it glides through without pulling or tugging.

So it makes that step a lot quicker than using a normal brush which might pull at the hair and potentially damage it.

I love that I can just have a quick brush through with this to de-tangle, spray and apply my products then brush through again to make sure all the products are distributed evenly throughout the hair.

I love that this one has a little cap which clicks in place over the bristles, so it keeps the brush clean and free from dust when carrying it around in your handbag.

If I had to choose just one hair product that I couldn’t live without, it would be the TRESemmé Heat Defence Styling Spray. It would be a very close call between this and MoroccanOil, but I have to say that this product has been an absolute wonder for my hair since I discovered it!

I always make sure I never run out of this and use it religiously everyday, spraying through from the mid to the ends of towel-dried hair. I repurchase the 300ml size and always have a miniature bottle which I fill up for weekends away and holidays so I’m never without it!

Tresemme Heat Defence Styling Spray

It helps to protect the hair from heat damage by using heat appliances such as hairdryers and straighteners, contains uv filter and also helps to prevent hair from becoming brittle and breaking. It really smoothes out and de-frizzes the ends of my hair and has helped recover the ends so much since using it.

I quite like TRESemmé products so would love to give the styling spray a go..and Morrocon Oil – everyone raves about it and I still have not managed to try it for myself.

Those two are my absolute faves, the MoroccanOil and TRESemmé heat defence styling spray! The styling spray really helps to detangle and smooth wet hair and the MoroccanOil has done absolute wonders for my dry ends! I use them every time I was my hair and I could never do my hair without them now! x

Thank you! It does seem a bit pricey at first considering it’s a small bottle, but it really does last ages as you only need the smallest amount! I just run it through the ends of my hair so I never use that much product so it probably lasts longer that way, but I find that I only need it on the ends for it to make a difference! It really does last ages so don’t be put off by the small bottle it’s amazing for dry ends! x
