It’s nearly the end of June and time for my monthly favourites! I’ve found some new favourites this month and also rekindled my love for an old favourite which I’ve just started using again.
First up is the L’Oréal Elvive Extraordinary Oil. I actually bought this a while ago but only used it a few times before stopping as I wanted to use up some of my other hair serums first. But now I’ve run out of those I’ve started using this again and I’m loving the results! It’s a 100ml bottle for under £10, which is great value for money as it will last absolutely ages!
It can be applied through the lengths and ends of wet or dry hair either after shampoo for luxurious nourishment, before styling to protect the hair or as a finishing touch for softness and shine. I actually use mine through the ends of damp, towel–dried hair and it makes my hair really smooth and soft, makes it easy to brush though and adds amazing shine. It also smells gorgeous too!
I love using a heat protection spray before I blow dry my hair and This Mark Hill ‘Turn Up The Heat’ Heat Protection Spray helps protect it, but also works amazingly at smoothing down the lengths and ends of my hair. I’ve been really impressed with it and love how smooth and tangle free it leaves my hair. It also helps create a really smooth blow dry and I can actually feel how soft it’s making my hair each time I use it. I only have it in the 50ml version, but I will definitely be repurchasing this when it runs out!
The Sally Hansen Mega Shine Top Coat is probably my favourite new item that I’ve discovered recently. I love taking care of my nails but as I don’t get them done professionally and just do them myself, I need good products that actually work to help keep them in good condition. I use a lot of Sally Hansen nail care products, so when I was on the lookout for a new top coat I knew where to turn to!
I wanted a top coat which gives a gel–like shine and this does just exactly that. I’ve actually had a few comments from people asking if I have gel nails on as it really does give that effect and I’m so happy I’ve found this product! It also helps resist chips, provides a hard, protective waterproof shield to seal in colour and prolongs manicure’s for up to 8 days.
The longest I’ve had my nail colour on with this over the top without chipping is 5 days, and I only changed it because I wanted to change the colour and not because it looked like it needed redoing. So it probably would have lasted longer but even so, 5 days chip free nail varnish is amazing for me as usually I have to redo my nails at least twice during the week because they start to look a bit chipped and faded. Overall, this is my favourite new discovery and it really does work, providing a beautiful shine and a protective barrier to keep nails chip free for longer!
This Boots Extracts Cocoa Butter Body Butter came in a set of four travel essential items and I was initially planning on saving it for my next weekend away or holiday, but as soon as I tried it for a review I wrote a few weeks ago, I couldn’t help but continue using it!
It smells amazing for a start and is just so lovely to use. It’s creamy and velvety smooth to apply and absorbs quickly leaving skin silky smooth, plus it leaves an amazing scent of cocoa butter that actually lasts for a while too. I’m actually going through this quicker than expected, so I will probably be repurchasing this very soon!
